Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience.
• Previous healthcare industry experience preferred.
• CPA certification or CPA candidate preferred.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting practices.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with accounting software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements and related reports
• Assist with monthly and year-end closing activities
• Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies
• Complete bank reconciliations and review cash activity
• Support accounts payable operations and vendor payment processes
• Review payroll transactions for accuracy and completeness
• Assist with variance analysis and financial reporting
• Maintain strong internal controls and recommend process improvements
• Coordinate documentation and schedules for external and internal audits
• Participate in budgeting and financial planning efforts
• Complete special projects and ad hoc reporting as assigned
• Provide financial support to department leaders across the organization
• Ensure confidentiality of financial records and sensitive information

This role is based in Fairfax, Virginia, with an expected in-office schedule of two to three days per week.

The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close activities, and compliance initiatives. This position works closely with finance leadership and cross-functional departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and efficient accounting processes.
