Job summary

Mid-South Steel seeks a Senior Accountant to join our team near the Atlanta area. The role combines general ledger accounting with financial data analysis, ERP expertise, and reporting improvements across fabrication and construction operations.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of accounting experience, construction or manufacturing background, and hands-on Power BI or SQL reporting skills. Experience with Viewpoint Vista is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5–7 years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Construction or manufacturing experience.
• Hands-on proficiency in Power BI or SQL for reporting and data analysis.
• Advanced understanding of integrated ERP systems and data flow.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial and operational reports and identify variances.
• Perform GL account analysis and reconciliations; investigate discrepancies.
• Support month-end and year-end close and journal entries.
• Develop and improve reports using Power BI or SQL for management.
• Extract, validate, and analyze ERP data, ensuring reports reconcile to records.
• Review project costs, margins, and profitability; explain variances.
• Collaborate with accounting, project management, and operations to improve accuracy.
• Identify opportunities to automate reports and strengthen internal controls.
• Assist with audit requests and maintain supporting documentation.
• Perform special analyses and other accounting projects as assigned.
