FirstService Residential is seeking a Corporate Senior Accountant to prepare monthly financial statements for assigned markets and to post general ledger entries, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.

The role emphasizes strong internal controls, variance analysis, and collaboration with market leaders to drive efficiencies while managing confidential information in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; 3–5 years of related experience.
• CPA preferred; must be pursued/completed within 2 years of hire.
• Strong Excel/MS Office proficiency and data accuracy.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver accurate monthly financial statements and support schedules.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Post journal entries to the general ledger.
• Document and monitor internal controls for regulatory compliance.
• Review transaction reports for GL accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Analyze variances and explain accounts for departments/markets.
• Prepare workbooks for tax, audit, and other reporting needs.
• Assist market leaders with financial statement guidance and efficiencies.
• Identify and implement process improvements for accuracy and efficiency.
