Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions in New Haven, CT seeks a Senior Accountant to join the Financial Shared Services team. You will prepare monthly journal entries, assist close, and analyze balance sheets in a global manufacturing context.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Finance or Accounting, 5+ years of experience, advanced Excel, and the ability to work with multiple systems. Expect collaboration with sales, fixed assets, tax, and reporting, with opportunities for growth within the

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• 5+ years of professional work experience supporting financial and accounting initiatives.
• Strong technical acumen using MS Excel: v-lookups, pivots, and macros.
• Proficiency in working with different systems to retrieve and analyze data.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Ability to develop effective working relationships with business partners.
• Limited travel with a potential of up to 5% if necessary (domestic).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries within precision and attention to detail.
• Assist in the month‑end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Analyse and reconcile balance sheet accounts to maintain financial accuracy.
• Assist the Sales team with item pricing, order entry, invoice coding and invoice reconciliation.
• Manage Fixed Assets and Leases to ensure proper accounting treatment.
• Prepare and analyse sales and tax returns, ensuring compliance.
• Contribute to special projects as an active team member, offering your financial expertise.
• Support Accounts Payable activities and collaborate with team members on financial tasks.
• Assess and recommend improvements to day‑to‑day procedures and controls.
• Respond promptly to ad hoc requests for information and reports.
• Thrive in a team environment, working collaboratively to achieve common goals.
• Demonstrate commitment to meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results.

• Exposure to a multi‑divisional or multi‑plant manufacturing setting preferred.
• Knowledge of accounting principles in accordance with GAAP.
