Job description

PE-backed transportation company based in Newark, NJ is seeking an experienced accounting consultant to support an accelerated month-end close and audit readiness. The company has recently completed two acquisitions and is operating with a lean accounting team, including a newly hired CFO and Controller.

This consultant will work hands-on with the Controller to reconcile balance sheet accounts, clean up historical items, and help drive a more disciplined and timely close process. The environment is QuickBooks-based and currently running a two-month close cycle, which needs to be compressed in advance of the upcoming audit.

• Focus: Balance sheet reconciliations, close acceleration, audit support
• Systems: QuickBooks
• Duration: Immediate start through May 31 (anticipated audit completion)
• Location: Newark, NJ (2–3 weeks onsite initially, then 1–2 days per week onsite)
