Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Senior Accountant Consultant for a 6-month engagement in Overland Park, KS. The role focuses on fixed asset and capital accounting, reporting, reconciliations, and supporting key deliverables with the accounting team.

The ideal candidate has hands-on fixed asset accounting experience, knowledge of GAAP, and strong Excel skills. This project-based assignment offers competitive hourly pay and the opportunity to impact a key accounting function from day one.

Qualifications

• 3+ years accounting experience, Senior Accountant level preferred.
• Hands-on fixed asset accounting experience required.
• Experience with capital assets, lease agreements, and asset disposals.
• Strong general ledger, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Solid understanding of GAAP.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and adapt to new systems and processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain fixed asset accounting and related reconciliations.
• Support capitalization, transfers, retirements, and disposals of assets.
• Review and account for lease agreements and related activity.
• Prepare depreciation and fixed asset schedules.
• Prepare journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end close activities.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Partner with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and provide additional accounting support as needed.
