Job summary

Gallo Mechanical LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Accounting Department. The Senior Accountant will play an important role in the month-end close process while supporting construction accounting, reconciliations, and other key accounting activities.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong technical accounting skills, excellent organization, and a continuous-improvement mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor and/or Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3 - 5 years of industry related experience.
• Advanced Excel proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances or discrepancies.
• Maintain Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules, ensuring accurate tracking of project costs, billings, and progress.
• Maintain fixed asset and amortization schedules and prepare supporting documentation for depreciation and amortization journal entries.
• Review leased asset schedules monthly to ensure completeness, accuracy, and proper accounting treatment.
• Review sales tax accrual accounts monthly for accuracy prior to payment.
• Support inventory management activities including reconciliations and analysis.
• Perform credit card reconciliations and assist with related accounting activities.
• Partner with the Director of Accounting and Accounting Manager on monthly accounting activities, special projects, and financial analysis.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and increase efficiency and accuracy.
