Job summary

Amer Sports is seeking a Senior Accountant, Consolidations & Reporting in New York City. Hybrid work model with involvement in the monthly global consolidation process, system improvements, and in-depth analytics across brands.

The role requires 3+ years in accounting, US GAAP/SOX knowledge, and strong communication skills to coordinate with GBS, brands, and auditors. CPA/MBA and IFRS experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting or corporate accounting.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly global consolidation close process and calendar; coordinate with brands and GBS; upload trial balances and process topside journal entries.
• Consolidate each brand’s monthly results in OneStream; translate currencies and reconcile intercompany items.
• Serve as a contact point for the monthly consolidation process; liaise with auditors during quarterly close.
• Lead quarterly/monthly balance sheet reviews with Brand Controllers and GBS; own multiple balance sheet analytics.
• Monitor consolidation-related processes: COA changes, reporting hierarchies, eliminations, mappings.
• Support finance transformation initiatives and new technology (OneStream, SAP S/4 HANA, Blackline).
• Ensure consolidation-related controls are timely and effective at corporate/entity levels.
• Work with cross-functional teams to drive standardization and efficiency; perform ad-hoc analyses.

What you will be doing:

This role plays a critical part in our monthly global consolidation process and will help drive process and system improvements, as well as reporting and analytics for internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Support the month-end corporate consolidation close process, including preparing and distributing the global close calendar, coordinating with the various brands and Global Business Services “GBS” team through the close process, uploading of trial balances, and processing necessary topside journal entries.
• Assist with the consolidation of each brand’s monthly financial results in OneStream, ensuring proper translation from local currency into the designated reporting currency and intercompany reconciliation.
• Serve as a contact point related to the monthly consolidation process, ensuring strong communication and timely resolution of issues with our global colleagues. Liaise with external auditors, as needed, during the quarterly close process.
• Work with Brand Controllers and GBS to lead quarterly and monthly balance sheet reviews for the business. Proactively monitor balance sheet accounts during the close and assist in preparation, review, and ownership of multiple balance sheet FSLIs as well as total balance sheet analytics at the end of each reporting period.
• Monitor all consolidation-related activities such as changes to the global chart of accounts, entity reporting hierarchies, consolidation mappings, intercompany eliminations, and other processes/controls.
• Actively support finance transformation initiatives and expanded use of new technology. (e.g. OneStream, SAP S/4 HANA, Blackline, and/or other projects and initiatives).
• Ensure consolidation-related controls at the Corporate and entity levels are being performed timely and continue to be effective.
• Work with cross-functional teams including the brands, GBS, Treasury, Tax, Financial Reporting and Planning to drive process standardization, improvements and efficiencies
• Performing other ad-hoc analyses and special projects as required

What you need to succeed:

• Minimum 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, or a combination of both.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX requirements
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally and sense of urgency.
• Maintain effectiveness in continually evolving environment

What we consider a plus:

• MBA or CPA
• Experience and understanding of IFRS
• Experience with OneStream is a plus.

A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is $90,000 - $105,000 atthe time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, geographic location, and/or training.Please note that the range reflects the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program.
