Job summary

Coda Search Staffing represents a rapidly growing health-tech client in New York seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee month-end close, ASC 842 lease accounting, and balance sheet/P&L analysis. This high-visibility role partners with leadership and helps shape financial processes during scaling.

The ideal candidate has a CPA-track preferred, 3+ years of accounting experience (Big 4 + industry), and strong Excel skills with experience in modern ERPs such as NetSuite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CPA-track strongly preferred.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience (Big 4 + industry preferred; health-tech/SaaS a plus).
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 842 lease accounting.

Responsibilities

• Own critical components of the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial results.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.
• Perform detailed analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and policy compliance.
• Maintain and update account reconciliations, identifying discrepancies and driving resolution.
• Support the preparation of monthly financial packages for management and investors.
• Manage the end-to-end lease accounting process under ASC 842, including classification, measurement, and ongoing monitoring of lease arrangements.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the close cycle.
• Prepare audit support for external auditors and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
