Job summary

FUJIFILM Biotechnologies seeks an Accountant II to own multiple areas including accounts receivable, payable, revenue recognition, fixed assets, inventory, and cost accounting. You will deliver timely close activities, reconciliations, and analyses, partnering with business units while maintaining strong controls.

The role emphasizes continual process improvement, SOX compliance, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Typically three to five years of progressive accounting and/or auditing experience.
• Working knowledge of United States GAAP and internal control principles; IFRS knowledge preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience with an ERP system such as SAP.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate review and approval.
• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities with reconciliations, exception investigation, and final tie-out.
• Coordinate close dependencies with stakeholders; communicate status, risks, actions, and deadlines clearly.
• Review owned P&L and balance sheet accounts for unusual or out-of-period items.
• Prepare fluctuation analyses with explanations and inputs to forecasts, budgets, and management reporting.
• Research, interpret, and document US GAAP and IFRS for new or complex scenarios; evaluate alternatives.
• Respond to auditor and compliance requests with traceable support tied to GL and documentation.
• Prepare concise analyses for management and stakeholders, highlighting financial impact and recommended actions.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies and root causes; elevate material issues early with solutions.
• Maintain prioritization and drive continuous improvement, automation, and documentation quality.
