Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is hiring a Senior Accountant for our Hybrid NYC finance team. The role reports to the Controller and owns the month-end and year-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, strong US GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills, with exposure to Workday or similar ERP systems. Communication with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and full-cycle accounting.
Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end monthly and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
Prepare, review, and post complex journal entries (accruals, prepaid amortization, depreciation, payroll allocations).
Perform and review detailed balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, fixed assets, intercompany, and liabilities.
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
