Senior Accountant - Career Path to Controller

Hemphill has been engaged to identify the next Corporate Controller of a very impressive and highly profitable, privately held company within an incredible industry. This company is founded and headquartered in Omaha and has operational locations throughout the Midwest. The position reports to the Controller and involves ownership of various responsibilities. Over the next 2-3 years, your responsibilities will expand as you are groomed to succeed the current Controller, who is approaching retirement.

1. Manage general accounting, financial statement preparation, and management reporting for multiple business units.
2. Handle budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis, identifying trends and opportunities to improve financial performance.
3. Manage fixed assets, depreciation, and analysis associated with new capital expenditures and projects.
4. Coordinate with the outside CPA firm to ensure a successful annual audit.
5. Provide management reporting, financial analysis, and ad hoc reporting as needed.
6. Partner with the Controller, CFO, President & CEO while evaluating strategic opportunities.
7. Work closely with business unit leaders to identify and capitalize on improvement opportunities.
8. Implement process improvements and new technology to enhance efficiency throughout financial management and beyond.
