Job summary

Alachua County Clerk of the Circuit Court (FL) is seeking a Senior Accountant to perform advanced governmental accounting work, including capital projects, financial reporting, and audit coordination. The role requires independent judgment, strong accuracy, and the ability to lead staff under the Finance & Accounting Department.

The position reports to the Assistant Finance Director and involves collaboration with multiple departments, plus oversight of year-end closing and ACFR preparation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration with 8+ years of governmental accounting experience.
• CPA or CGFO strongly preferred.
• Experience with ACFR and capital project accounting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and performs reconciliation of capital projects and funding sources.
• Maintains awareness of active projects, including budgets and timelines.
• Ensures expenditures are recorded to correct accounts and project numbers.
