Job summary

Citrin Cooperman in Chicago is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team. You will plan and supervise engagements, acquire knowledge of clients’ businesses, and review workpapers and financial statements for accuracy.

With 3-4 years of external accounting experience and a Bachelor’s in Accounting, you will contribute to balance sheet analysis, cash posting, and internal controls while mentoring staff and assisting in client service improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
• Three - Four years experience as senior accountant which include working in a BPO practice or working with an external accounting service provider.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise assigned engagements.
• Acquire a working knowledge of the client’s business.
• Review all workpapers.
• Review financial statements for accuracy and completeness, including note disclosures.
• Analyze balance sheet accounts and prepare reconciliations.
• Perform daily posting of cash transactions and ensure cash reconciliations are timely.
• Perform periodic internal audits on specific activity to ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Research and facilitate the resolution of issues arising during engagements.
• Interact with key client management to gather information, resolve problems and make recommendations for business and process improvements.
• Active involvement in professional development of staff.
• Prepare staff evaluations.
