Job summary

Metagenomi Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Accountant to support accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. The role reports to the Senior Accounting Manager and is based at Metagenomi's Emeryville headquarters.

Candidates must be onsite at least 2 days per week; relocation is not provided. The position requires an undergraduate degree in accounting, at least three years of pharma/life sciences accounting experience, and strong Excel, NetSuite, and Coupa proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related discipline required.
• CPA preferred.
• Public company or pharma accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations for cash, investments, prepaids, AP, leases, and accruals.
• Manage expense reporting system and process.
• Process weekly check runs and support procure-to-pay.
• Support payroll processing.
• Assist with special projects and system implementations, driving process improvements.
• Develop and refine internal control processes for compliance and efficiency.
• Assist in external audits and respond to inquiries from the audit team.
