Job summary

Slate in Troy, Michigan is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their Commercial Accounting team. This role will manage end-to-end accounting for accessories and merchandise, preparing journal entries and overseeing inventory accounting under GAAP and ASC 606 regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred, with 3+ years of relevant experience ideally in public accounting, and familiarity with inventory processes. Slate values grit, innovation, and a strong attention to detail in its employees.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, public accounting experience a plus.
• Experience with inventory accounting, including COGS, reserves, and physical count reconciliation.
• Proven ability to build processes from scratch in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries for accessories and merchandise sales.
• Manage end-to-end accounting for customer returns.
• Design transaction flows with IT and Digital teams.
