Job summary

Vercel Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to scale accounting operations as the company grows, owning key areas like accruals, lease accounting, and payroll. The role reports to the Sr. Accounting Manager and supports FP&A and business decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Anchored in SF with optional in-office days; cross-functional collaboration and process improvements are central to the role, including AI automation initiatives and potential M&A support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a mix of Big 4 public accounting and/or high-growth private company experience.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP - familiarity with FASB ASC standards, and comfortable doing some research independently.
• Hands-on, detail-oriented accountant with ownership and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Process-oriented and curious, with interest in AI, automation, and systems to improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly and quarterly close, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
• Prepare financial reporting packages and leadership presentations with fluctuation analyses.
• Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules; resolve discrepancies.
• Partner with FP&A to align accounting results with forecasts and business drivers.
• Lead or support process improvement and automation to streamline close activities and controls.
• Support M&A activities and onboarding of new entities; assist with audits and testing.
