Job summary

Metropolis Technologies seeks a Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team. You will own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensure US GAAP compliance, and support external audits.

You will help scale our accounting operations through automation and stronger internal controls. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, a CPA or CPA candidate, and strong experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
3+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2–3 years in national public accounting.
Active CPA or CPA candidate.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP including ASC 606/842 and SOX controls.
Proven experience managing full-cycle audit engagements and liaising with audit partners.

Responsibilities

Own key areas of monthly, quarterly, and annual close to ensure timely, accurate reporting under US GAAP.
Prepare complex journal entries and reconciliations across core accounting areas.
Support annual audits as primary liaison; prepare workpapers and disclosures.
Design and implement robust internal controls (SOX-ready) as the business scales.
Conduct technical accounting research on ASC 606/842/360 and draft memos.
Collaborate with FP&A, Operations, Engineering, Legal, and Tax to review contracts and track CapEx.
Perform monthly variance analyses and provide insights to leadership.
Identify opportunities to leverage accounting technology and AI to streamline close processes.
