Job summary

Bentley Systems, a world‑leading software company for infrastructure design and operations, seeks a Senior Accountant in Exton, PA. This hybrid, full‑time role focuses on post‑acquisition financial activities, month‑end close, and complex purchase accounting in a highly acquisitive environment.

Responsibilities include due diligence support, journal entries, balance sheet testing, and coordination with legal and portfolio teams. Prior GAAP/SOX experience and strong Excel are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of relevant work experience.
• Practical knowledge of US GAAP.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong Excel skills (PivotTables, XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP).
• CPA certification is a plus.
• Experience with QuickBooks and Workday ERP is a plus.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
• Fast learner with ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and thorough documentation for SOX.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day bookkeeping for non-integrated acquisition.
• Perform monthly close activities for non-integrated acquisitions, GAAP compliant.
• Reconcile non-integrated acquisitions balance sheet monthly.
• Assist with financial due diligence over acquisition targets.
• Assist with closing preparation and review of net working capital and purchase agreements.
• Record initial purchase accounting and related journal entries.
• Prepare and review the opening balance sheet.
• Assist with post-closing completion statements.
• Aid third-party valuation of intangible assets.
• Perform acquisition-related SOX procedures and controls.
• Collaborate with acquiree accountants on post-closing accounting.
• Quarterly reconciliation of acquisition GL accounts.
• Assist with 10-Q footnote preparation.
• Reconcile goodwill and intangibles.
• Assist with annual external audit.
