The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Business Admin, pursue a Master’s or CPA, bring 7+ years of accounting experience, and demonstrate GAAP proficiency, month-end close, GL maintenance, reconciliations, journal

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
  • Master's degree or CPA in progress preferred.
  • Seven or more years of accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial controls.
  • Experience with month-end close, GL, reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting.
  • Experience supporting audits and maintaining accounting policies.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet software and strong communication skills.
  • Organized, accurate, and detail-oriented; able to build trusted relationships.
  • Must be able to commute to Washington D.C. metro area.

Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites applications for a Senior Accountant to join our Financial Services department. This position is a full-time opportunity based out of our regional office located in Washington, D.C. with a hybrid work model. Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group is comprised of more than 1,700 Permanente physicians and nearly 300 staff professionals who come together to make a positive impact on the health and lives of more than 750,000 members in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.

What is required:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Accounting or Business Administration required.
  • Master's degree or CPA in progress preferred.
  • Substantial experience directly related to accounting; seven or more years preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Experience with month-end close, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Experience supporting audits, researching accounting issues, and maintaining accounting policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet software.
  • Strong interpersonal, written communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Organized, accurate, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to establish professional relationships built on trust and integrity.
  • Must be able to commute to Washington D.C., on an as needed basis.
  • Candidates must either currently live in or be willing to relocate to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area
  • Must provide documentation for the influenza vaccine as a condition of employment

The starting annual salary for this position ranges from $95,000 to $105,000 depending on circumstances including an applicant's skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, training, market data, and other relevant factors. In addition to the salary range above, MAPMG offers rich benefits that add substantial value to the total compensation package.
