Job summary

Second Sight Solutions, a BRG subsidiary, is a health technology company reimagining drug discount data exchange. We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support monthly close in a fast-paced environment and contribute to process improvements.

The Senior Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager and collaborates across departments, with responsibilities spanning revenue recognition under ASC 606, GL analysis, bank reconciliations, and tax support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
• 3–5 years of professional accounting or auditing experience.
• US GAAP knowledge.
• Proficient in MS Office; Advanced Excel skills.
• Exceptional organizational, follow-up and attention to detail.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in healthcare, healthcare data, pharma, etc. a plus.

Responsibilities

• Apply US GAAP, ASC 606 to contracts to record revenue.
• Analyze general ledger activity including account reconciliations.
• Prepare special reports and complete special projects as requested.
• Review department and GL account coding of transactions for accuracy.
• Perform bank reconciliations.
• Prepare standard recurring and non-recurring journal entries.
• Assist in variance analysis during period-end close.
• Prepare audit schedules with the GL team for year-end audit.
• Assist in preparation of sales tax returns.
• Provide accurate financial information to support tax preparer requests.
• Assist in documenting and maintaining accounting policies.
• Collaborate with internal departments across the company.
• Adapt to new tasks and responsibilities as the business grows.
• Contribute to the organization with professionalism and a positive attitude.

The Senior Accountant role reports to the Accounting Manager and is a critical member of the Accounting department. As the Senior Accountant, you will be working with the Accounting team to support the monthly accounting process within a fast-paced and quickly evolving company. The role provides significant learning opportunities as it encompasses day to day controllership duties as well as involvement in several project-based initiatives to improve the reporting and accounting functions. The candidate must be very flexible and highly committed to quality, customer service, teamwork and supporting company and department goals in a fast-paced environment. We need a professional with solid communication, technology, organizational and analytical skills and the attention to detail necessary to ensure accurate reporting in all areas.

Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

• Apply US GAAP, in particular ASC 606, to various contracts to calculate and record revenue recognition

• Perform analysis of general ledger activity including account reconciliations

• Provide financial status information by preparing special reports; completing special projects when requested

• Review department and GL account coding of transactions (i.e. vouchers) for appropriateness.

• Perform bank reconciliations

• Propose and prepare standard recurring and non-recurring journal entries including adjusting entries

• Assist in variance analysis review of financial statement transactions as part of period end close process

• Prepare audit schedules with the GL team to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit

• Assist in the preparation of sales tax returns

• Provide accurate financial information and documentation to support tax preparer requests

• Assist in documenting and maintaining the Company’s accounting policies

• Work collaboratively and communicate often with several internal departments

• Adapt to new tasks and responsibilities as the business grows and changes

• Contributing to the organization in a professional manner with a positive attitude

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred

• 3-5 years of professional experience in accounting or auditing

• US GAAP knowledge

• Proficient in MS Office. Advanced skills in Excel

• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment

• Consistent attendance and reliability

• Experience in healthcare, healthcare data, pharma, etc. a plus

Salary range: $85,000 - $110,000
