Job summary

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and play a key role in the month-end close process, financial accuracy, and audit readiness.

The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, nonprofit experience considered a plus, and proficiency with Excel and accounting systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience with QuickBooks is a plus.
• Nonprofit accounting experience (preferred).
• Experience with Anybill is a plus.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and GAAP.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close process.
• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy.
• Process accounts payable, including invoice coding and approvals.
• Manage vendor relationships and maintain vendor records.
• Assist with expense coding and classification.
• Provide support during internal and external audits.
• Help ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain accurate financial reporting.
