FINITETEK INC. is seeking a Senior Accountant – Tax & Assurance in Warwick, RI to provide accounting, tax compliance, planning, and assurance services for a diverse client base. The role emphasizes strong client service, multi-engagement management, and collaboration with firm leadership.
The ideal candidate has public accounting experience, technical knowledge in accounting and tax, and the ability to mentor junior staff while delivering timely financial reporting and tax work.
The Senior Accountant – Tax & Assurance is responsible for providing accounting, tax compliance, tax planning, bookkeeping, payroll, financial reporting, accounting, attets and assurance services to a diverse client base. The ideal candidate will have public accounting experience, strong technical knowledge, excellent client service skills, and the ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines.
This role provides the opportunity to work closely with firm leadership, develop client relationships, and contribute to the professional development of junior staff.
Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and management reports.
Maintain general ledger accounts and provide bookkeeping/accounting support.
Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals and various business entities.
Conduct tax research, projections, and year-round tax planning.
Perform audits, reviews, compilations, AUPs, Yellow Book, and Uniform Guidance engagements.
Prepare audit workpapers, supporting schedules, and practice aids.
Identify accounting, tax, and compliance issues and recommend solutions.
Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, payroll, and financial reporting.
Maintain strong client relationships and communicate financial/tax matters effectively.
Train and mentor junior staff and support firm process improvements.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA candidate or active pursuit of CPA licensure.
5+ years of public accounting experience.
Experience preparing individual and business tax returns.
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Experience preparing financial statements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
