Job summary

Master Trades Group is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support the Accounting team and partner closely with the Director of Accounts Payable & SG&A. This role focuses on ensuring accurate financial reporting, month-end close, AP analysis, and driving business performance through strong financial analysis.

The ideal candidate will be analytical, highly organized, and thrive in a fast-paced environment while collaborating across accounting, finance, and operations teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Experience with account reconciliations, month-end close, accruals, and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across departments.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience working in a multi-location, construction, manufacturing, distribution, or service-based environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Accounts Payable & SG&A with financial reporting, analysis, and accounting initiatives that support business operations and company growth.
  • Assist with the monthly close, including preparing detailed account reconciliations, researching discrepancies, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • Perform detailed analysis of SG&A spend, budgets, financial targets, and variances, identifying trends and providing meaningful insights.
  • Partner with Operations and business leaders to understand financial drivers, improve visibility into spending, and support informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting team on month-end and quarterly reporting, process improvements, special projects, and training, utilizing strong Excel and analytical skills.

Position Summary

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across departments.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience working in a multi-location, construction, manufacturing, distribution, or service-based environment is a plus.
Working Conditions
  • Hybrid role requiring a minimum of three days per week in our Boothwyn, PA office.
  • Professional office environment with regular computer use.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
  • Extended periods of sitting and computer work.
