Job summary

Spokane Industries is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead day-to-day accounting operations and deliver timely monthly financial reporting. You will run the monthly close checklist, prepare financial statements, and keep the books clean for the outside CPA firm handling taxes and filings.

Production data such as inventory, WIP and scrap will be used to inform cost data. You will own the close process, prepare journal entries and reconciliations, and ensure accuracy and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
• 3–6 years of hands-on accounting, including month-end close and financial statement prep.
• Solid working knowledge of GAAP.
• Strong Excel skills and ERP/accounting system experience.
• Accuracy and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close checklist and keep it on schedule.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals and complex reconciliations.
• Prepare income statement, balance sheet, and supporting schedules.
• Record inventory, WIP and scrap entries with production data.
• Complete monthly bank reconciliations.
• Manage AR, collections and customer payments.
• Provide trial balance and schedules to outside CPA for tax and year-end.
• Support annual budgeting and internal controls.
• Assist with ERP system changes and data testing.

We’re looking for a Senior Accountant who wants to help build the financial foundation for our next chapter and grow with us.

We are hiring a Senior Accountant to lead day-to-day accounting operations and deliver accurate, timely monthly financial reporting.

You will run the monthly close checklist day to day, prepare our financial statements, and keep the books clean for our outside CPA firm, which handles company taxes and filings. In a foundry, that means working with real production data: inventory, work in process and scrap.

What you'll do

• Own the monthly close checklist day to day and keep it on schedule
• Prepare journal entries, accruals and complex account reconciliations
• Prepare the income statement, balance sheet and supporting schedules
• Record inventory, work in process (WIP) and scrap entries, working with production on cost data
• Complete monthly bank reconciliations
• Manage AR, collections and customer payment communications
• Give our outside CPA firm the trial balance, schedules and backup documents they need for tax prep and year-end
• Help gather numbers for the yearly budget
• Follow and support our approval rules and internal controls
• Help test and move data during our upcoming ERP system change

What you bring

Required

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• 3 to 6 years of hands-on accounting experience, including month-end close and financial statement preparation
• Solid working knowledge of GAAP
• Strong Excel skills and experience with an ERP or accounting system
• Accuracy and follow-through: you own your deadlines

Preferred

• CPA license
• Manufacturing or cost accounting experience (inventory, WIP, scrap, standard vs actual cost)
• SYSPRO experience

Pay, benefits and how to apply

Pay:$86,000 to $110,000 per year. Starting pay depends on experience and certifications.
