Job summary

MotivHealth is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. You will maintain GAAP and STAT reporting, lead month-end close, and ensure accuracy of the general ledger while supporting budgeting and audits.

The role supports cross-functional initiatives and process improvements in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate has 4+ years of accounting experience, solid Excel and ERP skills (NetSuite/Sage a plus), and a CPA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience with STAT reporting is preferred.
• Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using ERP; NetSuite and Sage a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred.
• Public accounting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP and STAT financial statements.
• Lead the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Prepare supporting schedules for STAT and GAAP audits and coordinate audits.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and accounting policies.
• Assist with STAT regulatory reporting.
• Support process improvements to streamline accounting procedures.
• Mentor and guide junior accounting staff.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for financial reporting.
• Assist with special projects and other duties.
• Serve as the primary recruitment inquiries contact.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records, preparing financial reports, assisting with month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statutory Accounting (STAT). The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

This role is remote or hybrid and open to candidates based in Utah, Texas, or Arizona. Candidates local to South Jordan, Utah will work a hybrid schedule.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT:

WHAT YOU BRING:
