The Senior Accountant is a key member of the Finance team responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, month-end closing, financial reporting, grant accounting, and audit readiness. This position performs complex accounting activities, maintains accurate financial records and supporting schedules, and works closely with the Chief Financial Officer to maintain strong internal controls and ensure timely and accurate financial information. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, able to work independently, and capable of researching and resolving accounting discrepancies with minimal supervision.
The Senior Accountant is expected to serve as a strong accounting resource within the Finance department and take ownership of assigned accounting processes, ensuring work is complete, accurate, properly supported, and ready for management review.
Organizational financial strategy, final financial statement approval, Board financial reporting, organizational budgeting, audit leadership, and final accounting policy decisions remain the responsibility of the Chief Financial Officer.
