Reporting to the Senior Manager or Manager of Accounting, the Senior Accountant role has overall responsibility for ensuring company financial transactions are accumulated, classified and recorded in accordance with U.S. GAAP standards and all regulatory requirements. This position is responsible for the execution of various accounting functions, including General Ledger and Monthly Close, Accounts Payable, Revenue and related commercial expenses such as commissions and royalties, AR, Inventory/costing, Payroll and Benefits, Long-lived assets (including leases, fixed assets and intangibles), Cash Management, Financial Analysis, Tax matters and compliance, and Management and Financial Reporting. The role collaborates with the financial planning and analysis, other accounting operations, and business partners on a variety of topics, including accounting, financial reporting, compliance, audit and tax matters.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Executes the timely production of accurate, reliable monthly divisional financial statements to satisfy internal and external reporting requirements for various accounting functions and ensures compliance with internal controls, accounting policies and procedures
- Performs financial close activities for various accounting functions including month-end journal entries and accruals, supporting schedules, reconciliations, disclosures and internal controls.
- Performs financial reporting and compilation for various operations and commercials matters, such as commissions, royalties, vendors, government authorities, among others
- Participates in various tax activities including compilation, filing and payments, monitoring of requirements and changes thereto, audits, and support on business process changes and related tax implications
- Engages with external auditors (financial, debt, tax and operational related) to provide required documentation and analysis for audits.
- Executes unit cash flow and liquidity transactions, initiatives and reporting to ensure sufficient liquidity and compliance with corporate objectives
- Supports finance in periodic and annual operating and capital budget process
Process, People and Collaboration
- Active in process documentation, cross-training, benchmarking, and key metric reporting
- Identifies, directs and leads finance and process improvements (e.g. close and reporting, system/ERP implementation and enhancements), technology enhancements and automation, data analytics, and master data governance and maintenance activities
- Promotes business partnerships with other departments, e.g., warehousing and distribution, commercial and customer experience, invoice to cash teams (credit, invoicing, cash app, collections) and other enabling functions (IT, HR, Procurement, etc.) to improve operational performance and efficiency
- Ad hoc requests and other projects from senior management (e.g. acquisition integrations, strategic initiatives, funding/capital matters, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required
- 4+ years’ experience in corporate accounting
- Highly preferred qualifications:
- 2+ years in Public Accounting
- CPA preferred
- Experience in accounting for an enterprise with >$250 million in annual revenue
- ERP experience; D365/Microsoft, SAP Business One or Oracle/JD Edwards highly desirable
- Ability to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently
- Diligence, strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work well under stress
- Works well in a team environment
- Advanced level Excel skills and familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to effectively present information, written and verbal, to provide meaningful response from top management, peers, and partners
- Self-starter, proactive and motivated with demonstrated persistence in overcoming obstacles to achieve goals. Utilizes sound judgment, professionalism, and malleability to meet evolving deadlines and deliverables

Compensation Range: $74,000 - $110,000
