Job summary

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes and prepare financial statements.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and executive reporting.
• Serve as administrator for Unanet ERP.
• Identify process improvements and automate accounting and payroll tasks.
• Coordinate payroll through ADP and ensure compliance.
• Support audits, tax reporting, project accounting, and FAR compliance.
• Provide pricing and financial support for proposals and contracts.

Job description

FM Talent Source is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and support the financial health of a growing organization serving government, commercial, and nonprofit clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting operations, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, payroll accounting, and cash management.
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes and prepare financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, executive reporting, and strategic financial decision-making.
• Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for Unanet ERP.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities and process improvements across accounting and payroll systems.
• Coordinate payroll administration through ADP and ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Support audits, tax reporting, project accounting, indirect rate management, labor reporting, and FAR compliance.
• Provide financial and pricing support for proposals, contracts, and business development activities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience supporting accounting and finance operations within a government contracting environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit preparation.
• Strong Unanet ERP experience required or highly preferred.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now or a comparable payroll platform.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA preferred.
• Experience with government contracting finance, project accounting, and contract compliance.
• Experience supporting GSA Schedule contracts, including GSA reporting, monitoring, and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated success driving accounting automation, workflow optimization, and continuous process improvement.
