Job summary

Fives Lund LLC in Seattle, WA, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our finance team and support the Director of Finance with financial reporting, data aggregation, and AP/AR oversight. The role also provides leadership to a small accounting team and coordinates payroll processing with HR.

You will own month-end close, assist with budgeting, maintain accounting policies, ensure strong internal controls, and collaborate with external auditors as needed. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience driving month-end close in construction or project-driven environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and analytical problem solving.
• Hands-on ERP experience with Deltek-Ajera and SAP BFC Hana.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close and quarterly/annual reporting.
• Support budgeting and forecasting with Director of Finance.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and controls.
• Oversee Fixed Asset Schedule, COA, Prepaid schedules, revenue recognition, reconciliations.
• Manage AP/AR, vendor setup, invoicing, payroll coordination with HR.
• Post journal entries and oversee bank reconciliations.

We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant, who has the same desire to prove that industry can do it! This position supports the Director of Finance by managing financial reporting, data aggregation, and overseeing accounts payable/receivable activities. This role also provides oversight to a small accounting team and coordinates with the Human Resources department on payroll processing.

• Owns month-end close, along with quarterly and annual financial reporting to Fives Group (private $2B)
• Collaborates with the Director of Finance to support Budgeting and Forecasting cycles
• Develops and maintains accounting policies, procedures, process documentation, and reconciliation methodologies to support strong controls and operational excellence
• Owns/maintains Fixed Asset Schedule, Chart of Accounts, Prepaid Schedules, Revenue Recognition, Balance Sheet Reconciliation
• Prepares and files state taxes, assisting third parties and corporate tax teams with other taxes as needed
• Assists with Financial and tax Audits
• Works alongside HR to process bi-weekly payroll (external through ADP)
• Posts journal/general ledger entries as needed
• Oversees bank reconciliation
• Creates and maintains accounting system reports and dashboards
• Oversees day-to-day activities of Accounting Specialists AP/AR including but not limited to:
• Statement & Credit Card Reconciliation
• Vendor Setup
• PO & Invoice Entry
• Client Invoicing & Receipts
• Project/Bill Rate Setup
• Check Runs, ACH & Wire Transfers
• Material Transfers

Our ideal candidate:

• 5+yrs of relevant professional experience or a demonstrated equivalent level of expertise driving and coordinating month-end close processes. Construction or project-based industry experience preferred
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation and/or public accounting experience (Preferred)
• Strong knowledge of general financial accounting and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity, competing priorities, and complex accounting issues with a high degree of ownership
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas and workbook structures) and hands-on ERP experience. Current environment: Deltek-Ajera, SAP BFC Hana
• Strong attention to detail, organization, with clear written and verbal communication

Compensation:

The salary for this position ranges from $94,000.00-$105,000.00 annually, depending upon qualifications.
