Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, including fixed assets/CAPEX.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and depreciation methods.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, transfers, impairments, and depreciation.
• Maintain the fixed asset subledger and align with the general ledger.
• Perform monthly close activities: journal entries, reconciliations, rollforwards, and variance analysis.
• Review asset classifications and capitalization decisions for US GAAP compliance.
• Monitor CAPEX projects and AUC balances, ensuring timely closures and asset placement.
• Partner with project managers and budget owners to assess capex vs opex treatment.
• Support CAPEX and depreciation forecasting for FP&A and business partners.
• Support OPEX POs and prepare accruals for accurate period-end expense recognition.
• Coordinate internal and external audit requests and SOX documentation.
• Maintain strong internal controls and identify process improvements.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage fixed asset, CAPEX, and select OPEX accounting activities. This role combines hands‑on accounting ownership with cross-functional collaboration across project teams, budget owners, FP&A, audit, and other business functions. The ideal candidate can apply accounting requirements effectively, communicate clearly with finance and non-finance stakeholders, and drive timely resolution of open items.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, transfers, impairments, and depreciation.
• Maintain the fixed asset subledger and ensure alignment with the general ledger.
• Perform monthly close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, rollforwards, and variance analysis.
• Review asset classifications and capitalization decisions for compliance with US GAAP and company policy.
• Monitor CAPEX projects and Asset Under Construction balances, ensuring timely project closures and asset placements in service.
• Partner with project managers and budget owners to assess capital versus expense treatment and investigate variances.
• Support CAPEX and depreciation forecasting for FP&A and business partners.
• Perform OPEX purchase order reviews and prepare accruals to ensure accurate period-end expense recognition.
• Support monthly OPEX reporting and provide clear variance commentary and insights.
• Coordinate internal and external audit requests and support SOX documentation, testing, and remediation.
• Maintain strong internal controls and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and data integrity.
• Support ERP enhancements and projects affecting fixed asset and CAPEX accounting.
• Build strong relationships across finance and business teams while proactively managing deadlines, risks, and follow-ups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, including 3+ years in fixed assets and/or CAPEX.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, capitalization rules, and depreciation methodologies.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large data sets.
• Experience with major ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar.
• CPA or CPA-eligible preferred.
• Experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or another capital-intensive industry preferred.
• Familiarity with SOX controls, audits, project accounting, or fixed asset subledger systems preferred.
