Founding Partner | Executive Search Leader – Accounting & Finance at Silicon Valley Search Group

The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in accrual accounting, experience working in a SaaS or technology environment, and proficiency with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks and NetSuite.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable (AP):

• Process and verify vendor invoices, ensuring accurate coding and adherence to approval workflows.
• Manage payments via ACH, wire, and checks in accordance with contract terms.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Maintain up-to-date vendor documentation, including W-9s and tax forms.
• Process employee expense reimbursements and manage corporate card transactions.
• Support month-end close by preparing accruals related to vendor expenses.

Accounts Receivable (AR):

• Generate and distribute customer invoices in line with contractual terms.
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue balances.
• Apply cash receipts and electronic payments accurately.
• Prepare aging reports and provide collections analysis to leadership.
• Resolve billing issues and collaborate with customers to address discrepancies.
• Work with the Sales team to ensure accurate billing and timely collections.

Month-End Close:

• Support the month-end close process by:
• Reconciling AP and AR sub-ledgers to the general ledger.
• Recording journal entries for accruals, prepaids, and deferred revenue.
• Assisting with internal financial statement preparation.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and revenue recognition standards.

General Accounting & Compliance:

• Assist with external audits and internal compliance efforts.
• Help drive improvements to accounting processes and workflows.
• Manage sales tax filings and 1099 vendor reporting.
• Provide support for payroll processing.
• Collaborate across departments (Sales, Operations, Engineering) to align financial processes with business needs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accrual-based accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar ERP tools.
• Prior experience in a SaaS, technology, or high-growth startup environment is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred (Nice to Have):

• Experience with subscription-based revenue recognition and deferred revenue.
• Knowledge of multi-currency transactions and international payment processing.
• Prior involvement in audit preparation and financial close processes.
