Job summary

Beck's, headquartered in Princeton, IL, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our accounting team at the home office. You will work closely with the CFO and leaders to manage GL, month-end close, and internal controls while learning all aspects of the financial operations behind our convenience stores and car washes.

The ideal candidate has extensive accounting experience, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to long-term career growth within a 100% employee-owned environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Five or more years of professional accounting experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, GAAP, and financial reporting.
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations.
• Support the month-end close process and financial reporting.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and strong internal controls.
• Review financial information for accuracy and identify discrepancies.
• Help improve accounting processes and procedures.
• Process and reconcile daily fuel accounting and invoicing.
• Maintain accounts receivable records and monitor outstanding balances.
• Process and apply customer payments.
• Manage fixed asset accounting including additions, disposals, depreciation.
• Administer the fleet card program including transaction review.
• Oversee day-to-day workflow of the admin accounting team.
• Support store managers with daily paperwork and cash reconciliation questions.
• Collaborate with CFO and leaders to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Take on additional accounting responsibilities as you learn the business.

Salary Range: $70,000.00 To $90,000.00 Annually

Beck's is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our accounting team at our home office in Princeton, IL.

Salary

$70,000–$90,000 annually, based on experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations
• Support the month-end close process and financial reporting
• Maintain accurate accounting records and strong internal controls

Operational Accounting

• Process and reconcile daily fuel accounting and invoicing
• Maintain accounts receivable records and monitor outstanding balances
• Process and apply customer payments
• Manage the fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, and depreciation
• Administer the company fleet card program, including transaction review and issue resolution

Team & Operational Support

• Help oversee the day-to-day workflow of the admin accounting team
• Support store managers with daily paperwork, cash reconciliation questions, and other accounting needs
• Work with the CFO, accounting team, and operational leaders to resolve issues and improve processes
• Take on additional accounting responsibilities as you learn the business and develop in the role

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Five or more years of professional accounting experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, account reconciliations, internal controls, accounts receivable, and fixed asset
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and with accounting or ERP systems
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail
• Organized and able to manage multiple priorities
• Experience in retail, convenience store, fuel, or multi-location accounting is a plus
