Job summary

Beck's is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our accounting team at our home office in Princeton, IL. You will work closely with our CFO and accounting staff, supporting month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Five or more years of professional accounting experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, GAAP, financial reporting and month-end close processes.
• Experience with accounts receivable, fixed assets, and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations.
• Support the month-end close process and financial reporting.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and strong internal controls.
• Review financial information for accuracy and identify discrepancies.

Senior Accountant

Beck's is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our accounting team at our home office in Princeton, IL.

You'll work closely with our CFO, accounting team, and leaders throughout the company, giving you the opportunity to learn all sides of the financial operations behind our convenience stores and car washes. We're looking for someone who is strong in accounting, enjoys solving problems, and wants to be part of a company where there is opportunity to advance over time.

Salary

$70,000–$90,000 annually, based on experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations


• Support the month-end close process and financial reporting


• Maintain accurate accounting records and strong internal controls


• Review financial information for accuracy and identify discrepancies


• Help improve accounting processes and procedures

Operational Accounting

• Process and reconcile daily fuel accounting and invoicing


• Maintain accounts receivable records and monitor outstanding balances


• Process and apply customer payments


• Manage the fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, and depreciation


• Administer the company fleet card program, including transaction review and issue resolution

Team & Operational Support

• Help oversee the day-to-day workflow of the admin accounting team


• Support store managers with daily paperwork, cash reconciliation questions, and other accounting needs


• Work with the CFO, accounting team, and operational leaders to resolve issues and improve processes


• Take on additional accounting responsibilities as you learn the business and develop in the role

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred


• Five or more years of professional accounting experience preferred


• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, account reconciliations, internal controls, accounts receivable, and fixed asset


• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and with accounting or ERP systems


• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail


• Organized and able to manage multiple priorities


• Experience in retail, convenience store, fuel, or multi-location accounting is a plus
