Job summary

Headfarmer is seeking a Senior Accountant in Phoenix to strengthen the backbone of its financial operations, reporting directly to the Controller and partnering with senior leadership.

You will own the month-end close, prepare financial statements, analyze inventory and costs, support audits and tax compliance, and drive improvements across the finance function while collaborating with operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills, Pivot Tables, and XLOOKUP.
• Attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• CPA (or in progress) or inventory/cost accounting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own key pieces of the month-end and year-end close, from journal entries to account reconciliations
• Help prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Dig into inventory transactions, valuation, and cost trends, flagging discrepancies before they snowball
• Prepare documentation for internal and external audits and support tax compliance
• Partner with operational leaders to deliver financial analysis, reporting, and KPIs that actually get used
• Contribute to process improvements and system implementations across the finance function
