Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Staff Accountant for a hybrid role based in Philadelphia, PA. The position focuses on processing vendor invoices and employee expenses, posting journal entries, and supporting month-end close with reconciliations and variance analysis.

The role requires 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, proficiency with Sage Intacct, and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA is a plus but not required, with diverse exposure to audits, reporting, and process

Responsibilities

• Review, process, and ensure timely payment of approved vendor invoices and employee expense reports.
• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company accounting policies.
• Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including account reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies, resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Analyze financial data and account activity to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial reporting and compliance with company policies.
• Support internal and external audit requests by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Collaborate with business partners and department leaders to provide financial insights and support operational decision-making.
• Generate and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly sales and operational reports.
• Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability within accounting operations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis activities as needed.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff, assisting with training and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in special projects, system implementations, and process optimization initiatives as assigned.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $50.00/hr.
