Job summary

Mastercard in the United States is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Global Business Service Center in Missouri. The role focuses on complex accounting activities, GAAP/Non-GAAP schedules, and collaboration with Accounting Leadership to deliver accurate financial results.

You will support SOX/audit, implement process improvements, and manage reporting from banking systems. A CPA and a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance are required; an MBA is preferred.

  • Tracks progress and consolidates operational results using reporting tools.
  • Escalates operational risks and recommends resolutions.
  • Identifies and implements process improvements.
  • Maintains access and reports from banking systems.
  • Supports SOX/Audit compliance and control improvements.
  • Provides ad-hoc support to senior management.

Overview

The Global Business Service Center (GBSC) is a shared services center within Mastercard whose mission is to add value to our partners and serve our customers by delivering operational excellence, enhanced customer experiences, and focused business results. The Senior Accounting Treasury Analyst will execute on this mission in collaboration with peers and support of Accounting Leadership.

Role
  • Performs complex accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards
  • Preparation of Non-GAAP and GAAP supporting schedules in connection with the Earnings Release and 10Q/10K Filings
  • Leverages performance management tools and reporting to track progress and consolidate operational results
  • Escalates areas of operational risk and opportunities making specific recommendations on resolutions
  • Identifies & Assists with the implementation of process improvements
  • Performs, updates and maintains existing access and reports from various banking systems
  • Supports SOX/Audit compliance and assisting with control improvements
  • Supports special projects as requested; provides ad-hoc support to senior management
All About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • MBA preferred
  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements and financial reporting requirements and consistently delivers accurate work on a timely basis
  • Experience managing projectsAbility to build trusted relationships with business partners

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
