We seek a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role is key to ensuring accurate financial records, efficient operations, and providing insights for strategic decisions. The ideal candidate will have 7 to 10 years of progressive accounting experience, a strong understanding of GAAP, and the ability to manage complex tasks.

Note: This is a full-time, on-site position at our new office: 11 E 44th St, 6th Fl, New York, NY 10017.

Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting:
   • Prepare and analyze financial statements per GAAP.
   • Perform variance analysis and explain fluctuations.
   • Develop and implement reporting procedures.
2. General Ledger and Month-End Close:
   • Manage month-end/year-end close processes.
   • Perform account reconciliations and maintain ledger records.
   • Prepare and post journal entries.
3. Audit and Compliance:
   • Assist with audits and documentation.
   • Ensure regulatory and internal control compliance.
   • Maintain internal control procedures.
4. Financial Analysis:
   • Analyze data for trends and risks.
   • Provide insights and recommendations.
   • Support budgeting and forecasting.
5. Process Improvement:
   • Identify and implement efficiency improvements.
   • Participate in special projects.
   • Mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA certification preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience.
• Strong GAAP knowledge.
• Proficiency in NetSuite.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Proven deadline management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Retail, Tech, or Transportation industries.
• Experience with QB desktop.
