Job summary

Kilcoy Global Foods North America is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Mundelein, IL. This role will oversee general accounting operations, ensure GAAP compliance, support financial reporting, and assist with audits.

The Senior Accountant will contribute to the accuracy and integrity of financial data, drive process improvements across the organization, coordinate with internal teams, and assist with month-end close, budgeting, and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
• Experience in food manufacturing, CPG, or distribution is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and company policies.
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Analyze data and variances to provide actionable insights.
• Support internal and external audits with required documentation.
• Assist in developing accounting policies and process improvements.
• Prepare sales and property tax filings and other regulatory reports as needed.
• Maintain financial records and internal controls; collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Assist with the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Analyze financial data and variances to provide actionable insights.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation.
• Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies and process improvements.
• Prepare sales tax filings, property tax filings, and other regulatory reports as needed.
• Monitor and maintain the integrity of financial records and internal controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize financial reporting and operational efficiency.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications & Competencies:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the food manufacturing, CPG, or distribution industries.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and general ledger functions. Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
• Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving ability with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
