Chesapeake Search Partners has partnered with a reputable manufacturing company based in Harford County, MD in search of a Senior Accountant to join their team. This is a great opportunity to work closely with the company’s Controller and get involved in a variety of impactful accounting functions—including financial reporting, cost accounting, inventory analysis, and budgeting.

Responsibilities

Own key parts of the month-end close process: journal entries, reconciliations, reporting & analysis
Partner with operations to analyze manufacturing performance, track efficiencies, and identify variances
Prepare and distribute daily labor efficiency reports, weekly financial snapshots, KPIs, and other ad hoc reports
Support year-end audit work—build schedules (asset roll-forwards, depreciation tie-outs, etc.) and manage audit requests
Collaborate with the Controller and Plant Leadership on sales, cost, variance, and margin analysis

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and standard costing
SAP experience and strong Excel skills are a must
Analytical mindset with a knack for solving problems and staying organized
