Job summary

FellowshipLIFE Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee accounting and budgeting across New Jersey communities and affiliated entities. This role reports to the Director of Finance and focuses on accurate financial reporting and internal controls.

You will review financial statements, manage revenue streams including entrance fees, and mentor accounting staff while supporting month-end and audits. Travel to multiple NJ sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, revenue recognition, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulas.
• Experience in a multi-entity environment; nonprofit/healthcare/real estate experience is a plus.
• Ability to periodically travel to FellowshipLIFE communities in New Jersey.
• Entrance fee, deferred revenue, amortization, or contract-based accounting experience highly valued.
• Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and audit schedules.

Responsibilities

• Review P&L statements, balance sheets, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Provide day-to-day guidance, work review, and mentoring to 1-2 accounting team members.
• Manage accounting related to resident revenue, entrance fees, deferred revenue, healthcare revenue, and ancillary services.
• Prepare financial analysis, including occupancy, payer mix, aging, revenue trends, and management reporting.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Partner with operational leaders to understand financial results and improve reporting.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, annual audits, and regulatory reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, documentation, and efficiency.
• Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives with the Director of Finance.
