Note: Candidates must have 3+ years of directly relevant commercial real estate development, construction, or infrastructure accounting experience. Hands‑on project accounting experience involving construction costs, CIP, capital expenditures, monthly close, and financial reporting is essential.

Job Description
- Manage accounting records for multiple active development and construction projects.
- Record and review project costs in accordance with U.S. GAAP and capitalization policies.
- Maintain detailed accounting schedules for land, hard costs, soft costs, capital expenditures, and construction‑in‑progress.
- Review project invoices for accurate coding, capitalization, and cost allocation.
- Account for construction loan draws, advances, interest, and capitalized interest.
- Maintain and reconcile CIP balances and coordinate construction draw activity.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reporting packages for development entities.
- Perform budget‑to‑actual and forecast‑to‑actual variance analysis.
- Complete month‑end close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement analysis.
- Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and transfers from CIP when projects are placed into service.
- Partner with Development, Construction, Accounts Payable, Finance, and Procurement on project costs and reporting.
- Support the implementation and optimization of NetSuite project accounting, reporting dashboards, and workflows.
- Help establish scalable accounting procedures, financial controls, and audit‑ready documentation.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of commercial real estate development, construction, infrastructure, or capital project accounting experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Strong knowledge of project accounting, construction accounting, CIP, fixed assets, and capitalization.
- Experience preparing financial statements, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month‑end close.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with ground‑up development projects strongly preferred.
- NetSuite experience preferred.
- Construction lending and draw accounting experience preferred.
- CPA or active pursuit of CPA certification preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
