Job Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing complex accounting tasks, ensuring financial accuracy, and supporting strategic financial planning. The role serves as a bridge between junior accounting staff and accounting management and works closely with the Controller, Financial Planning & Analysis Director, and Assistant Controller to align financial plans with organizational goals.

Essential Functions

• Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports.
• Oversee general ledger operations and month-end/year-end close processes.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations (e.g., GAAP).
• Assist on internal and external audits.
• Reconcile accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
• Assist with preparation of documentation tax returns.
• Follow accounting policies and procedures.
• Communicate financial insights to senior management.
• Staying updated on industry trends, accounting principles, and regulations to maintain a high level of expertise.

Month End

• Prepare bank reconciliation.
• Prepare inventory roll forward.
• Prepare accounts receivable roll forward.
• Prepare fixed asset roll forward.

Reporting

• Prepare property tax returns.
• Prepare sales tax returns.

Leadership & Team Development

• Mentor and guide junior accounting staff.

Experience and Education

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (CPA preferred).
• 6+ years of experience in accounting or finance.

Minimum Of 3 Years Of Management Experience

The ability to interpret complex financial data, identify trends, and make strategic decisions is vital.
