Position Summary

Senior Accountant supports the accuracy and integrity of financial operations by managing general accounting activities, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards. This role plays a key part in the month‑end close process, audit support, and financial analysis.

Job Title: Senior Accountant

Department: Finance & Accounting

Location: Realty / Executive Building

Qualifications
  • 3–7+ years of progressive accounting experience (6+ years preferred or equivalent hands‑on experience)
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles
  • Experience with accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, M3, Great Plains)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with real‑estate property tax
  • Background in real‑estate appraisal preferred
  • Active Texas Property Tax Consultant License preferred
  • Experience working in a multi‑entity, real‑estate, or leased accounting environment preferred, including exposure to AP/AR processes and financial analysis
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Support month‑end and year‑end close processes
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable regulations
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to management
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
  • Identify process improvements and strengthen internal controls
  • Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff as needed
