Job summary

Avo Photonics is seeking a Sr. Accountant to oversee daily accounting functions in a manufacturing environment, ensuring accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

The role calls for a proactive, detail-oriented professional with leadership skills. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's in Accounting, 7+ years of progressive experience (supervisory), and be proficient in Excel and ERP systems (SAP preferred).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
• 7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience including supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in Excel & ERP systems; SAP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the organization’s daily accounting functions, including cash management, A/R, A/P, month-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Ensure accuracy of all transactions so that the company’s financial position is accurately reflected.
• Proactively address issues or anomalies and collaborate with other departments to resolve in a timely manner.
• Enforce internal controls in accordance with Halma’s policy to protect company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assist with internal & external audits, ensuring adherence to deadlines and compliance with audit requirements.
• Support budgeting & forecasting processes as needed.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis and prepare reports to inform decision-making, identify trends, and propose strategies for financial optimization.
• Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the accounting staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Continuously evaluate and enhance financial processes and systems to drive efficiency and accuracy.
