Job summary

The Senior Accountant at Thornton & Grooms Heating, Cooling & Plumbing in Farmington Hills, MI, supports the Controller with accurate, timely financial reporting. You will reconcile GL accounts, assist month-end close, manage AR/AP, and provide payroll backup as needed.

You’ll collaborate with teams, prepare financial statements, analyze variances, and help with job-cost analysis. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance, 3–5 years of accounting experience, and strong

The Big Task

Thornton & Grooms is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support our Controller and help ensure accurate, timely financial reporting. This position will reconcile general ledger accounts, assist with month-end closing, manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, and provide backup support for payroll.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or comparable experience
• Three to five years of accounting experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to handle sensitive company information with discretion and integrity
• Experience with ServiceTitan or accounting software is a plus
