This role operates with a high degree of independence and ownership while supporting month-end close activities, reconciliations, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives.This position serves as a key accounting resource within the department and is responsible for handling more complex accounting tasks, resolving discrepancies, supporting audit activities, and assisting with financial reporting and operational accounting processes. The Sr. Accountant partners cross-functionally with Finance, Payroll, Billing, Operations, and leadership teams to ensure accurate financial data and effective accounting operations.Principal ResponsibilitiesTrio Business SupportOwn the data preparation and reconciliation work behind rebate processing (client-facing communication stays with existing team members)Serve as a key point of support for accounting activity specific to the Trio/staffing side of the businessTax & Business License ManagementBuild and own a tracking system for recurring tax filings and business license renewalsProactively monitor deadlines and reporting requirements rather than responding to them as they come upCoverage & Cross-TrainingCross-train on month-end close processes and accounts payable/vendor setup functions to provide coverage when team members are outServe as backup for AHS-side credit checks (internal only, not for external posting)General AccountingPrepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedulesInterpret data to identify inconsistencies and flag discrepancies before they become reporting issuesSupport month-end close activities and financial reporting accuracyProcess & SystemsIdentify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and tracking systemsUse Excel and accounting/AI tools comfortably; willingness to learn new technology is expectedEducation and CertificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; not required if offset by equivalent experienceRequired Experience:4+ years of progressive accounting experienceStrong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting processesExperience supporting month-end close and account reconciliation activitiesSolid working knowledge of debits, credits, and journal entry mechanics requiredExperience preparing journal entries, financial schedules, and variance analysesComfortable with or open to learning AI tools as part of daily workflowStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systemsAbility to manage multiple priorities independently and meet deadlinesStrong written and verbal communication skillsPreferred ExperienceStaffing, MSP/VMS, or workforce solutions industry experienceExperience with vendor setup, credit checks, or rebate/discount programsExposure to compliance tracking (tax filings, business licensing)Experience in multi-entity or high-growth environmentsExperience with ERP or accounting systems such as Intacct, QuickBooks, or similar platformsExperience supporting audits and compliance processesExposure to process improvement or accounting system enhancement initiativesExperience in healthcare staffing, workforce solutions, or service-based industriesCPA or progress toward CPA certification preferredLocation:Based in Edmond, Oklahoma. In-office to start, with hybrid flexibility on the table after 90 days.CompensationThe expected base salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000 annually.
