Job summary

Qualified candidates have 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency in Excel and ERP systems such as Intacct or QuickBooks; CPA or progress toward CPA is preferred.

The Sr. Accountant is responsible for performing advanced accounting activities, supporting financial reporting accuracy, and contributing to the integrity and efficiency of accounting operations across the organization. This role operates with a high degree of independence and ownership while supporting month-end close activities, reconciliations, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives. This position serves as a key accounting resource within the department and is responsible for handling more complex accounting tasks, resolving discrepancies, supporting audit activities, and assisting with financial reporting and operational accounting processes. The Sr. Accountant partners cross-functionally with Finance, Payroll, Billing, Operations, and leadership teams to ensure accurate financial data and effective accounting operations.

Principal Responsibilities

• Trio Business Support
  • Own the data preparation and reconciliation work behind rebate processing (client-facing communication stays with existing team members)
  • Serve as a key point of support for accounting activity specific to the Trio/staffing side of the business
  • Tax & Business License Management
  • Build and own a tracking system for recurring tax filings and business license renewals
  • Proactively monitor deadlines and reporting requirements rather than responding to them as they come up
• Coverage & Cross-Training
  • Cross-train on month-end close processes and accounts payable/vendor setup functions to provide coverage when team members are out
  • Serve as backup for AHS-side credit checks (internal only, not for external posting)
• General Accounting
  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Interpret data to identify inconsistencies and flag discrepancies before they become reporting issues
  • Support month-end close activities and financial reporting accuracy
• Process & Systems
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and tracking systems
  • Use Excel and accounting/AI tools comfortably; willingness to learn new technology is expected

Education and Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; not required if offset by equivalent experience

Required Experience

• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting processes
• Experience supporting month-end close and account reconciliation activities
• Solid working knowledge of debits, credits, and journal entry mechanics required
• Experience preparing journal entries, financial schedules, and variance analyses
• Comfortable with or open to learning AI tools as part of daily workflow
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and meet deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Experience

• Staffing, MSP/VMS, or workforce solutions industry experience
• Experience with vendor setup, credit checks, or rebate/discount programs
• Exposure to compliance tracking (tax filings, business licensing)
• Experience in multi-entity or high-growth environments
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems such as Intacct, QuickBooks, or similar platforms
• Experience supporting audits and compliance processes
• Exposure to process improvement or accounting system enhancement initiatives
• Experience in healthcare staffing, workforce solutions, or service-based industries
• CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred

Location

Based in Edmond, Oklahoma. In-office to start, with hybrid flexibility on the table after 90 days.

Compensation

The expected base salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000 annually. The final compensation offered will be determined based on a number of factors, including but not limited to skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
