Volunteers of America National Services seeks a Senior Accountant in Eden Prairie, MN for a hybrid role with travel to sites and conferences. You will lead financial statements and supporting work papers for VOANS facilities on a monthly basis, contributing to a mission-driven healthcare organization.

The position requires 4+ years in general ledger and financial reporting, healthcare accounting experience, and proficiency in Excel and NetSuite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 4+ years of professional experience with general ledger and financial reporting.
• Experience in healthcare accounting.
• Public accounting/audit experience preferred.
• Proficient in Excel.
• Proficiency with NetSuite, Microsoft Office and accounting systems for $50–$250 million revenue range.
• Ability to travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements for facilities, recording journal entries and reconciling accounts.
• Review A/R, Cash, Census, A/R Payor, and A/P invoices.
• Provide daily accounting support to Operations and Finance staff.
• Prepare for annual audits and assist with Medicare/Medicaid cost reports.
• Support quarterly fiscal soundness and state financial reporting.

What You Bring (Requirements)

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field.
• Four (4)+ years of professional experience, at least three (3) of which should include general ledger and
  financial reporting.
• Previous experience in health care accounting.
• Public accounting/audit experience preferred.
• Proficient in Excel.
• Proficiency with various accounting software, including NetSuite, Microsoft Office and computerized
  accounting systems designed for companies in the $50 - $250 million (revenue) range.
• Ability to work flexible hours. Ability to travel is required.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Responsible for the completion of financial statements for Facilities.
  • Gathering information from each facility and recording the journal entries, generating the financial statements, reviewing financial statements, and reconciling accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Review of A/R Journal Entries, Cash, Census, A/R Payor Review.
  • Review and approval of A/P Invoices, Census, IBNR and Claims Paid.
• Provide daily support on financial and accounting matters to Operations, Accounting Department, Facility Executive Directors and Business Office Staff.
  • Accurate interpretation of financial information.
  • Timely responses to requests for assistance.
  • Provide departmental assistance with questions relating to general ledger, AP, PR, and A/R.
• Prepare for the annual audit. Reconcile accounts and prepare audit work papers.
  • Reconcile accounts and prepare work papers and cost reports annually, as requested.
  • Assist with providing information to facilitate preparation of Medicare and Medicaid cost reports
    for appropriate SNFs, as requested.
• Additional duties and job functions as assigned such as:
  • Quarterly fiscal soundness.
  • Monthly state financial reporting.
  • Annual submissions of Part D bids.
