Johns Manville is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Denver HQ finance team. You will support month-end close, prepare reports, and ensure GAAP compliance for internal and external reporting.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in accounting or finance with 3+ years of experience, familiarity with SAP/ERP, and strong Excel skills. Minimal travel is required, and the position offers a competitive base salary with eligibility for an incentive bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; CPA/CMA preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting; experience with LIFO is a plus.
• Solid SAP or ERP systems knowledge and experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
• Strong analytical and organizational skills; good problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Analyze and prepare multiple monthly reports including other income/expense and government reports.
• Perform multiple account reconciliations including multi-currency bank accounts; resolve discrepancies and propose adjustments.
• Prepare journal entries in a complex accounting environment (incentive accruals, vacation accruals, inventory adjustments).
• Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring GAAP compliance for internal, SEC, and census reporting.
• Support quarterly and year-end closing and reporting requirements.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Collaborate with auditors and provide necessary documentation.
• Demonstrate strong customer service within the organization.
• Undertake special projects as required; perform other duties as assigned.

Pay Range

$77,800.00-$107,000.00 Annual

This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.

• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Collaborate with auditors and provide necessary documentation.
• Demonstrate and ensure a strong customer service commitment within the organization.
• Special projects as required.
• May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements: (education, skills, and abilities)

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA or CMA preferred, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in finance/accounting role.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP, cash flows and financial reporting. Experience with LIFO inventory accounting is a plus.
• Solid SAP or another similar ERP systems knowledge.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
• Proven analytical and organizational skills.
• Strong decision-making and problem resolution skills.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
• Ability/willingness to leverage AI (i.e. Copilot) for process automation.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment while being effective interfacing across all levels of the organization.
• Minimal travel required (0-10 days per year).
• Work environment is typical of an office setting
